I've been resigned to the idea of not going anywhere exciting in 2007 for at least a year now, but my plans have recently changed for the (much, much, much, much) better!
I was an exchange student to Sweden with AFS back in 04-05. AFS likes to send out email updates to returnees every now and then, most of which I just delete, but I got one in the beginning of July inviting all returnees between the ages of 18-23 (that's me!) to apply for a scholarship for a two-week community service/leadership conference/homestay program in Egypt. I applied, got the scholarship, and I'm leaving in just over two weeks! I'm super excited- not only is this going to toss a lot of badly needed adventure and fun into my thoroughly mediocre summer, but it's also... completely FREE! Two weeks is, of course, a pretty short time to be spending in Egypt, but I'm planning to go back next year, and plus, I really can't spare any more time. I'm working right up until I leave, and I actually get back a day or two after the fall semester starts.
WOOT.
Oh, and I might be heading back to Sweden for a few weeks in December to visit my host sister if I can swing it ticket-wise.

Going to Jamaica in Oct - celebrate B'day! I know I know..I should rethink Jamaica but figured once this lifetime I have to do this resort thingie...Jamaica was one place we all could agree on.
I already dread the all inclusive aspect...ah well..have to try it once.
