not for soccer... amma booke bokke is what we call our rugby team, our soccer team are called Bafana Bafana but by the time 2010 comes around that might've changed cos they are thinking of changing it... like every other name in this country! Smile

why would they change the name 'bafana bafana'? doesn't that mean "the boys" in some bantu language, not afrikaans?

oh, and yeah i will definitely be there. maybe adorned by a u.s. flag cape.

how right you are... and who knows why they want to change the name! At the moment SA is going through a change-the-name-of-everything-phase so why not our national sports teams as well!! Smile

With Euro 2008 fever going on I'm getting pumped for the World Cup. I will have just graduated college (hopefully) that summer and South Africa would be quite the gift to myself to catch a few matches.

Is there any group effort about this so far?
