BootsnAll blogs use WordPress. I hope that helps, because if it doesn't I'll have to ask someone else for more information - that's about the extent of what I know about the blog platform! Smile

You can still check out the tag index though.

What are tags?

Chris - I'm not using the 'text' version when I edit (not sure if that's known as 'rich text' or not). Whatever - my issue is the same, I'm having trouble melding my photos and text so that they look good together. Any ideas? Thanks!

I would highly recommend the text only version for your editing screen. You can switch this easily in your profile page in your admin. Scroll down to "Personal Options" and uncheck the box next to 'Use the visual rich editor when writing'.

Hello Chris,

I am trying to start my blog pages with the original photo shot not a thumbnail. I have tried the "Using Original" option with "Link to Page" as well as all of the other options. All that happens is that they start out as a thumb nail. Can you see if I am doing something wrong. I posted a test page so that you can check it out.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

When you upload your image and then click on the thumbnail version of it to display the image options, make sure what you see says 'Using Original' rather than 'Using thumbnail'. Don't click on the words 'Using original' thinking that will select it. Whatever is visible is what is currently selected. Once you have that, click on send to editor and your image should display at the original size - just make sure your image is not too wide to display in your blog text area. It should be no more than 500px wide.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Chris,

I re-did everything and still no change. The width is 499 and I left the option on the screen as "using original" and it still comes up as a thumbnail.

Hi. I'm having trouble uploading pictures for the first time. I followed the instructions given as far as using original and link to page but then when I view my blog it just shows small pictures in a row (I've been saving my pictrues to my desktop from Kodakgallery). I want the pictures to be big and seperate from the others in the center of a page with a border. Can I do that? Also, I wrote something in the "title" and it only shows the title when you drag the mouse over the picture. Does it not display it under photo? Thanks.

Do you have an entry that I could look at that shows your photos? I looked at your blog but only saw the one entry that has no images. I might be able to see if there's anything obvious if I can look at how the photos appear.

Couple of things, just to take care of the simple things:
- make sure that 'using original' is actually displaying before you 'send to editor'. Don't click on 'using original' thinking that is selecting it.
- make sure your original image size is less than 500px wide. Any wider and your blog may look bad in Internet Explorer. If you need to resize your images, I recommend this website.

And no, the title does not act as a caption. If you choose to link the photo to a page, the title becomes the title of the page the photo appears on.

I went ahead and resized the photo, made sure original was properly selected so that I saw it and it's still showing up small. Take a look and see what you think.
Thanks.

Hi Victoria,

Somehow a height value of 96 was included in the line of code that makes the image appear. I deleted that and now the photos appears at it's correct size.

Next time, try 'Not Linked' rather than 'Linked to page'. Since your image is at full size anyway there is no need to link to a larger version of it. I don't know if that will have any effect but it's worth a go.

I've read through this thread and followed the instructions more than once and I'm still not able to publish photos on my blog. What gives?

Hi Freesia. What happens when you try to upload photos? Do you see any error messages? I tried logging in and uploading a photo and it seemed to work OK (you can delete my Tom Jones post).

Nope, no error messages. When I click "send to editor", either nothing gets transferred into the blog post, or just some text. Sorry, it probably doesn't make much sense but that's the best way I can explain it.
