This thread doesn't have any tags.

You can still check out the tag index though.

What are tags?

I'm not sure if this is possible, but maybe someone knows.

I'm trying to figure out how I can create a link over one word in a post, and when you click it, it will create a popup window that just has the photo in it, and nothing else. I've seen this done with the old blog system (The Global Trip used it extensively), but I can't figure it out on the new one.

If it makes a difference, my photos are hosted on Flickr, and I'd prefer not to have to upload to multiple locations. I tried using the same tag as the old blog system used (the word "Delphi" in this post), but it also seems to depend on having the image inside an html file with no margins in order to work.

Any suggestions?

I tried using a javascript onClick command within the link code to see if that would work like I've seen it on other sites, but I have a feeling it only works if the images are hosted on the same domain. Would have to look into that to be sure.

Other than that, you could use the target="_blank" command to at least make it pop-up into a new tab/window.

Actually, now that I've played with it a little more I think I have it working on your Delphi link. It's not pretty and you'll have to paste that extra code in each time, but it will do what you want it to. You can adjust the width/height attributes to apply to the size of your image.

I'm having trouble uploading photos from flickr to my blog. The only way I found to work is using flickr's "blog this"-function. The problem with that is I can only post one photo per blog post. If I want several photos in one blog post, I have to cut and paste from all the individual photo posts, then delete those.

Ideally, I would like to just press "IMG" and paste in the relevant URL. However, when try that: no photo!

Any tips?
Sophie

I just tried adding a photo to my blog by clicking on the 'img' button and pasting in a URL of an image, and it worked ok.

Are you sure you're grabbing the correct display URL from flickr?

Well, I just now tried to add a photo to a blog post, using this flickr URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21828428@N04/3440859511/

but it's just a red little cross where the picture is meant to be: http://blogs.bootsnall.com/Anne-Sophie/blablabla.html

Yes, that URL is the flickr PAGE address, not the image itself. To get the image URL, right click on the image (if you have a PC) and select 'copy image address' or 'copy image location' or something like that depending on your browser. Then paste that into the 'img' box that pops up in your post admin.

Make sense?

I've pasted the correct URL into your test post so you can see how it should look.

I see advice of Hydro is very useful because I had trouble about this problem before. Thanks a lot....
