I've been looking at these sites, but am curious about the logisitics, any bootsnall folks who have airhitched firsthand, or know about it? Thanks!

I used to travel now and again as a courier between here and Japan. This was about 10 years ago. At the time it was a cheap way to travel (I was playing about 400 pounds return to tokyo when the list price was 1200). However, in this day and age, with the internet and cheap flights I cant be bothered to travel as a courier - the dates arent flexible enough, you have to wear suit and tie for the flight and you cant board the plane until the last minute. It is however very cool to board the plane carrying the big official manifest bag and then see all the cargo roll out at the other end knowing you have all the documents,

my sister used airhitch to get her to and fro Europe once and had a relatively easy time, but you have to be very flexible. She flew into London, but has to fly out of Douseldorf (spl?).
It's getting more and more expensive, and sometimes airlines offer such great deals, that airhitch doesn't seem so cheap after all. I just saw a flight a few months back to and fro London from San Fran for $200. That is better than airhitch.
When she first decided to go with airhitch, we were emailing with them to try and get some info, and they were suspiciously vague about the process. What we wanted was a step by step explaination of the process (e.g., first you pay us money, then we give you a ticket voucher, then you choose dates...), but instead they insisted on giving us some esoteric jib jab about how travelling airhitch was a "state of mind and flexibility...", and I just really wanted to know specifically how she gets from point A to point B. It all worked out though.
