Anyone here ever sold their photos?

Hi Everyone,

I'm just curious... but has anyone here ever had any luck selling their travel photos (i.e. slides) to photo stock agencies or magazines?

I am planning to contact some photo stock agencies with some of my color transparencies e later this year and was wanting to know if anyone else has had much luck doing so.

It can be hard to sell pics. In my experience you need something extra to get in the door.

For me, it was being in the right place at the right time with the right gear and prior business contact that got me in the door...

I actually have gone the route of book publishing and art galleries rather then magazines or stock agencies. I have had lots of luck this way as I still have the control and make all the money.
