Too often lumped in with North America, Mexico is a country that stands out on its own.

Anyone traveling from DF to Oaxaca city soon?

We left our camera battery charger at the home of a couchsurfing host in the neighborhood of Roma Sur in Mexico City. We are now in Puebla and have discovered that it is very, very expensive to replace! We are offering $20US if someone can bring it with them to Oaxaca city. We will meet you wherever you are! The house in DF is in a very accessible area near many hostels, and there is always someone t home.

Please PM me if you are able to help! Muchas gracias!

Have you tried calling your host, possibly with the help of a native speaker in Puebla, where you are now? If they could mail it to you, the cost of using DHL or UPS might be worth the trouble. You could pay them via Western Union for the shipping. Sure, they may not do it, or take the money, but it would be cheaper than not trying at all if it succeeds.

Also, they could ship it via public bus to the Puebla bus station, since buses are a common form of transport for large packages sometime. I;ve seen it done many times, and you could pick it up at the Puebla bus station.

Just an idea.

We've explored other options with our host. There's no communication problems. This is the fastest and simplest way we both can think of to get the charger back to us. Thanks for the advice, but still looking for a traveler who's headed to Oaxaca! Thanks, all!

If you can't find a mule, Estafeta in Mexico works like DHL and tends to cost less. Or ship it by bus.

Are you a member of CouchSurfing? I would check that community as well. Google it - not promoting, but that is a very active travel community.
