Are the beaches in Costa Rica topless?
TylerDurden
This is not an immature "sex-chat" topic, just a real question. Anyone know?

None of the ones I visited were, although on certain beaches I'm sure you could find a few little enclaves at some of them (Puerto Viejo, for instance) if you and your wife were looking for that for yourselves.

I have heard of such, but in several trips on both coasts I have never seen such. Really, modern Styles leave litle to the imagination anyway, so it's OK!

The answer is Yes and No, depending on where you go. I have seen topless in Jaco and in Puerto Viejas and a couple of other places. But what is more unique is the large number of middleaged and older American men escorting their 18-19-20 year old Costa Rican "wards" (do they still use that word?) These guys seem to want the average guy to see their girls toplessness, to the point it becomes ridiculous. but, do what you feel. Even though CR is a Catholic country, they are MUCH MUCH more open about sexual issues and the human body

Over the years Costa Rica has attracted many US Army retirees who spent a lot of time in the Canal Zone. Many are single and love the availaility of women in CR, yet none of the ungodly heat, not to mention the hassle of living in Panama. One of the favorite spots is Gulfito, located about an hour or so south of SJ on the Pacific side. Is someone did go topless there, I doubt that anyone would care.

It depends....some of the beaches are not, but you see girls topless and i didnt see anyone tell them to leave or put a top on.....Wish i could be more helpful!!!!!

no worries... I appreciate the input. My better half finds it liberating and we are going there soon, so, I couldn't keep myself from asking.
