Hey Hydro,
I'm having some problem with how articles are displaying at the moment.
Unfortunately I can't post a screen shot as it's my work pc and firewall says no, but basically, there's a big blank space at the top of the page where the banner and featured article thumbnails ought to be and instead they are sitting overtop of the first 2-3 paragraphs of the article, making it unreadable.
Do you think this is an issue with my browser (IE8) or something at your end?
Cheers,
Liz

Articles not displaying correctly

Hi Liz,
Thanks for letting us know. I checked an article page using a cross-browser checker and looks like it's something on our end. We may have updated a design piece that broke it in (slightly) older browsers. I'll let our guys know and it should be a fairly easy fix.

Much better but not quite there - the thumbnails and banner are back where they ought to be but the BnA logo is sitting on the dark grey band (the one with the search box in it) and partitially obscuring the word "destinations" and completely blocking that associated link.
If a screen shot would help that make sense, pm me an email address and I'll fire one across.
Cheers,
Liz

Hiya,
I'm afraid that it still looks more or less the same as the screen shot I sent, with the "destinations" link not able to be accessed.
However, of more immediate concern is that the fact that in the past few weeks I've had massive issues trying to access the boards at all - first it was the "cannot find database" error Larizzle mentioned, then something else and now I can sometimes get the page to open but incredibly slowly and more often than not IE throws up a connectivity error/timeout message
Is your server terribly sick?

Not so much sick as dead. We've had to move.

Hey Hydro,
Articles look all good now but just FYI, I think the "Latest Posts" and "Orphan Posts" side bars have stopped updating. I'm still seeing RTW medical insurance for 2012 at the top of both lsits nad that thread has come, been commenting on and gone again, some time ago.

Great that articles are looking good again for you. I'm aware of the latest and orphan posts not updating. We had to move the boards to a new server recently and the extra calls to the database to make those work was one of the processes we turned off in order to make sure it was stable. Getting them working again is in the queue, but for now we're happy the boards are accessible and (for me at least) faster.
