Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

I don't think that you have anything to worry about, lodging wise. There is plenty of inexpensive lodging wherever you go. Finding it isn't difficult once you are there, and adds to the adventure.

Remember: Tin Tin didn't book in advance!

Peak period of Luang Prabang is February and November, but most guesthouses are available. Anyway, i heard in those months some tourists have to stay at a temple.

i was just back from Luang Prabang and there is a new guesthouse called Tanaboun on Sisavangvong Rd which is center of everything and room rate is 150,000 kip ($20 approx incl aircon, private bathroom & TV. downstairs is internet cafe & coffee shop. quite nice and cheap Smile
