I have recently finished a trip in EGYPT - and had a fabulous time. I am looking now to go for an overland trip through Egypt, Turkey (where I live), Syria etc... I am very easy going, young at heart and willing to chip in whenever necessary. Have looked at a few options but worried that they seem to think I am too old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I am on a fairly tight budget but have decided to realise my dreams. My husband is a sailor and loves his summers in Turkey where he can sail to hearts content!! - now its my turn - I am looking for a group to travel with - like minded people to share the history and the archaeology of Egypt, turkey,Syria,Jordan etc.. Oasis caravan sounds great to me but yet again I feel that cause of my age, I might feel 'out of things' - I enjoy roughing it, I enjoy a drink and a few cigarretes and I enjoy good food - my 'thing' is ancient civilisations, temples and symbolism. Any interest or information as to groups or travelling buddies - feel free to PM me - cheers - Anne (Hathor)

Hathor,
My husband and I are in our mid 60s and still travelling you're young, age is nothing if you are fit and healthy these are the main things.
We normally travel independantly but we are travelling in Africa this time for 3 months with a company who do group travel including singles that cater for the older traveller. It's in trucks and camping but the budget might suite check it out.

I've looked at many companies for this trip and most do cater for the younger traveller and the idea of partying until the early hrs and having to be up for 7 in the morning doesn't apeal at our age. We are serious travellers and are there for the sites not how much drink we can get down in a night.
If you are looking for a package tour, some years ago we enjoyed a 2 week Egypt cruise on the Nile that was amazing, you want on different trips every day. Catered for people from 30+ meals good service good and you could go on your own, I met a really lovely lady travelling alone who I am very good friends with now.
