Best freeware photo editor for a netbook?

What are tags?
I'm looking for a photo editor to put on my netbook (1gb ram). Any recommendations for one that offers good capabilities without hogging too much memory? I assume gimp wouldn't be ideal for this?

Ha. I was about to suggest Gimp. (I have no idea how much RAM it requires, sorry. I'm sure this info would be available on their website though.)
