Best Hotel in Vegas

Almost all hotels and casinos look alike in Vegas. Which one is the best for you when it comes to quality and reasonable price?

When it comes to Vegas hotels, all the big names are great. Each of the top 10 hotels is easily world class. So, its tough to go wrong if you stick to the main areas of the strip, or even venture off to places like The Palms or Hard Rock.

Really it depends what you're looking for. If you want cheap but good location, Tropicana is in need of a remodel, and their prices show it. Across the strip is the Excalibur, again, cheap, bottom end Vegas Strip hotel (which is still more than accomodating and average or better in most other cities). Depending on when you're there you can probably pick these up for about 60-130 a night, week ends make a big difference in price.

I find that the best value is MGM Signature Suites. Signature is connected to the MGM, but behind it, and every room is a suite. Prices are decent, and you get access to all of the MGM.

Prices fluctuate a lot, I'm going in June for a music festival, and somehow got a room at the hard rock for cheaper than the Luxor, which I've never seen before. Basically, just shop around on kayak or whatever site you like, and snatch up whatever deal you find. My favorite reasonably priced hotels are Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Luxor, Palms, Hard Rock, and Signature.

Make sure when you're price comparing you're looking at total after taxes and fees, and know that most of the hotels will charge a resort fee of around 30 bucks per stay.

I hope this helps, tough to give more specific info without knowing what type of Vegas trip you're doing, there are just too many hotels. If you'd like more info I've been to Vegas at least 30 or 40 times, stayed in many of the hotels, and am happy to talk about it.

Really depends on your price range and what you are looking for. Places like the Bellagio and Ceaser's Palace are incredible but verrry expensive and the gaming at those places also has much higholer minimums.

Per the previous comment, I have also stayed at the Signature at MGM and thought it was pretty good. Also recommend the Aria and Planet Hollywood. Regardless, if it's on the strip its going to be pretty good quality and close to everything

Thank you for that helpful information. I will show and tell this to my friend. He is more of a backpacker type of traveler so he would probably get one of the cheapest hotels in Vegas. He won't really stay too much in the room. Most of the time, inside the casinos. So the room is not a big deal for him. As for me, I might be considering MGM or anywhere near Hard Rock.

Thats the thing, nobody ever spends a lot of time in the room, and if you do, why are you in Vegas?!? There are TONS of little motels and things you can stay in for very cheap. For cheap and still on the strip, you can also try Imperial Palace, I think its directly across from Caesers Palace (not 100% on this, but its close). Didnt mention before, but be sure you don't stray too far North on the strip (near Circus Circus), it goes on for a long ways, and the end with Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM, Tropicana is the better area.

Was down in Vegas at the end of May, was rafting through the Grand Canyon, but stayed one night at the begining of the trip and at the end at the Desert Rose

It was fairly cheap, as far as Vegas goes. And it was right behind the strip, there was no casino in the hotel so it was quiet and enjoyable. Nice pool too. But because it was so close to the strip you can still easily get a great Vegas experience. As ACBungalow mentioned, most don't spend a lot of time in the hotel anyway.

It's vegas. You're not gonna remember your hotel by the end of the night (or morning) ;p

in las vegas it's nice to be just closed to the strip, more quite and cheaper. I was at Best Western Mardi Gras in 2007, was nice.
