Best in-depth guide to Nepal trekking

Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

Best in-depth guide to Nepal trekking

Postby dris » September 6th, 2008

Hi, I'm headed to Nepal for an extended period of time and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a good in-depth trekking guidebook.

I'm not looking for something that only covers the heavily traveled Annapurna Circuit and Everest Base Camp routes...I can get that information from any agency in Kathmandu.

I'm looking for something along the lines of ""The Tibet Handbook" by Victor Chan...but for Nepal

Thanks for the help,

Andris

Stephen Bezruchka's "Trekking in Nepal" is pretty much the gold standard. It covers all the major and minor routes. And Sir Edmund Hillary endorsed it. That's good enough for me!
