what creative methods do you use for exercising on planes?

I've tried doing some yoga in flights (depends on the flight attendant if this is permitted)
I saw in another topic someone used blankets to play tug-of-war

I like this thread better when it was posted verbatim on the Lonely Planet forum here or on the FlyerTalk forums here.

Agree with you. There is decrease in available space and this gives no room for exercise.

Even in a constricted airplane cabin, it is possible to do some isometric stretches that help your blood circulation. I think it's particularly important if you're older, because that's when the blot clots occur.

I just repeatedly tense up the muscles in my legs or backside to keep the blood flowing while in my seat.

A few times I've even gone to the lavatory just to get out of my seat even though I didn't have to go.

I like to beat my chest and kick the seat in front of me. A hearty wail from time to time keeps the vocal cords loose.

When trying to exercise in a plane some airlines are definitely are better than others. I found this one a popular exercise site. Hopefully this will help a couple of you http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/weis16.htm
