Well I've been exchanging some e-mails with my family in England and it has now been assured to me that a job will be available during the months of September to January. It will be minimum wage... equivilant to around 10$CAN at my uncles office in Sherbourne.

It has also been decided that I will in fact be climbing Kilimanjaro with my Uncle and cousin sometime during January... exciting stuff!

Anyways I just wanted to write something seeing as my blog was seeming a bit empty...

The plan for my trip is as follows...
I'll leave around July for England where I will stay with realatives from July through to January. While in England I will work at my uncles tour company earning money towards my trip while living abroad. After my work is finished in England I will move onwards to Tanzania with my Uncle and cousin where we will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Tanzania will also include a Safari! After Tanzania I will head off on my own towards Egypt. Here I will visit all the various tourist attractions and get to experience my first taste of true independence. Following Egypt will be India. Not exactly sure what I will be doing here quite yet, but we'll have to see what comes up. Thailand will preceed India where I will hopefully get to experience life as a beach bum in one of those straw shacks. Next is Australia, here I will stay with yet another family member in Melbourne. Following Australia will be New Zealand, the adventure capital of the world! Here I would like to do all the extreme activities NZ has to offer. After New Zealand I will head back home to Vancouver and back into normal boring life...
That's pretty much it. All this is just tentative, we'll have to see what happens and I'll keep you up to date with anything that comes up.

Oooooh behold my very first post! This is truly a moment to remember...
Well not really, but still, this is a landmark in my travel blogging history. Anyways, thanks for coming to my Blog, theres not much here at the moment, but soon it will be filled with glorious stories of travelling abroad! Right now I am in the planning stage of my trip. Things are starting to come together now and I am almost at the point where I will purchase my ticket outta here!
Anyways, at this point in my blog I will be listing all the fabulous things I PLAN on doing, if I actually end up doing them... we'll have to wait and see.

Hi there, my name is Dan Best and I am currently 17 years old and live in Vancouver, Canada. Ever since I was young I wanted to see the world. Now that I am finishing high school, I can finally realize my dream of a RTW trip.
My journey into the world of travel started when I was 12 when I got the opportunity to visit Europe with my realatives; it was really an eye-opening experience. From that point on it was obvious that my goal in life would be to see as much of the world as possible. After Europe I visited Japan and various other countries hoping to feed my need for more travel. It was apparent though that short stints of three weeks abroad wasn't enough, I needed more. That is what has driven me towards planning my RTW trip for next year. Things are being put together slowly, but I remember that each day I get closer to stepping onto that airplane and into life abroad.
