Would that special surprise guest be Barrie? Oh I hope so, I would love to meet him. My spice/spouse Don & I plan on being there. About the carpool, anyone interested from Sacramento/Auburn on up? We can drive my beautiful new (to me) Jaguar. It is my reward for working in a temp lucrative prison job for 7 months. I haven't taken it on a long drive, yet. We will stop in Roseberg to visit 93 year old Auntie on the way up & back. Let me know if you are interested. We are creative, open people who love to talk travel & a few interesting travel & other life stories stories to share. Hmm.... a ballgown or my well worn overalls, what will win out?
My only regret is that I haven't been there yet!

Good news to everyone, Portland residents and visitors alike: Portland's Holiday Ale Festival will be happening Dec. 4th-7th, right along side the BnA bash. Make sure to visit and sample some deliciously flavorful and robust holiday beers! No worries, even though its outside, it is covered, and heated! Pioneer Courthouse Square, be there or be ummm....square. I guess. Trinque

I've updated the original post with some links to the hostel thread & the day-trip thread, so it's all in one place... And the list of folks who are joining us just keeps growing. Smile I'm getting really excited... Only two months away! Yippee!

How about, for those of us that can't be there on the night, for whatever reason...maybe some of us might actually prefer sitting at home drinking egg nogg, by a nice cosy fire, xmas lights twinkling...NOT! That a responsible appointed person should take a photo of all you lovely people arriving at the party (no doubt looking beautiful and handsome)...and then take a photo of the same people at the END of the night (looking a bit worse for wear)...oh I can just imagine! (I promise I won't smirk).

At least the rest of us could have some kind of smug satisfaction, knowing that you'll have the hangover from hell and we won't! Plus when we all start to see the the posts coming through with tales of the fabulous xmas party...we can all sit there and say, ha serves ya right for having a good time!

Whaddya think then...yeah?

Oh I wanna come! Oh well, hope you all have a fantastic time, I'll be thinking of you Wine

I'm trying to make it, all depends on the flight costs and such. About how much is it at the hostel everyone is staying at?

eppyboy might be coming, might be...i have several trips im saving up for at the moment with limited income, so if i can swing a real cheap flight out there (any suggestions), I would consider coming...I thought last year was a lot of fun, but this year I will not be eating a big meal before the big party again so I can drink a lot more then I did...
