I am thinking of exploring Bryce Canyon and Zion in January. We will have our 4 year old along. I'm curious as to what the weather is like this time of year, what is opened/closed and is it really worth it in the winter if we don't intend to ski? Any thoughts?

I have never been to either park so any over all advice is welcome as well
