Cambodia: New National Air Carrier - New Planes and Money

Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

Cambodia: New National Air Carrier - New Planes and Money

Cambodia has a new national air carrier - Angkor Air.

It is different to its predecessors, new aircraft and money - both supplied by majority shareholder VietNam Airlines.

Its fleet comprises one Airbus A321-184 (reliable workhorse) and two ATR 72-66 (let's hope they have solved the wing icing that caused so many deaths in older models).

Destinations presently include:
Cambodia - Phnom Penh (Pochentong International Airport); Siem Reap (Angkor International Airport); Sihanoukville

VietNam - Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat International Airport)

There are other Cambodian airlines still flying: Bangkok Airways < http://www.bangkokair.com/ >; PMT Air < http://www.pmtair.com/www/index.php >; Royal Khmer Airlines < http://www.royalkhmerairlines.com/staff.html >.

Is it like the tree I saw in Manila with all the garbage sticking to it like leaves?

And yet we STILL can't seem to pave that awful road from Siem Riep to the Thai border...
