Hiya! this is a bit late notice but a group of us are heading to the Bordeaux area (Angouleme to Pau) and doing about 4 days of camping and wine drinking. Now to me camping is super budget and I was expecting to pay about €5 a night to pitch my tent somewhere. I just learned that we booked a campsite that will cost us about €20 each per night! This seems outrageous to me. Anyone have any tips - or tell me that €20 is reasonable and I will live with it. HELP!!! We put money in the kitty and budgeted about €250 for 8 of us to stay for 3 nights, but if we are already spending €140 on the first night - we are going to be hard pressed to keep it under €250!!!

Any other tips on places to go while wandering Bordeaux would be appreciated too!

This site tells me it costs 25-28 euros for the first two people, and five to 8 euros per person after that. This is the higher season, 20 euros for the low season. This includes a car and tent. Extra tents cost 5 and 6 euros each,, so bring a BIG tent.
