I've never liked Peeps... The husband adores the things, though, and actually made a homemade version of them last Easter. Those were yummy. Smile

Salty liquorice! It rules. The salty taste is actually ammonium chloride, and it is addictive.

Oh, I love those fruity gummys! There are all kinds of flavors at the Asian market nearby - I think my favorite was Kiwi, because the candy had those little black seeds in it. How authentic. Wink

Most memorable:

Argentina - Little individual chocolate squares wrapped in foil, can't remember the brand name but I love getting a little mixed bag of them from a corner Kiosko.

Australia - Tim Tams (there are several different types now)are a holy and revered institution. The holy grail is the automatically refilling packet seen only on TV commercials thus far (it was granted by a Genie). The most decadent manner of consuming Tim Tams is to bite off both ends and use what is left as a straw for your hot Milo - catch being that the straw only lasts one suck then it must be shoved into the mouth very quickly.

Better for the packaging than for what's inside (though unique flavors like painapple are worth a try).

Champagne Truffles from Teuschers.

Granted you can get them around the world (I first had them in NYC at the store in Rockefeller Center), but they are the most amazing Belgian chocolates.

I went to Amsterdam with my parents when I was 10 and my dad bought me a bag of those chocolates shaped like sea-shells with a swirled white and milk chocolate on the outside and the chocolate praline creme on the inside. I would give up sex for a year if I could have those anytime I wanted Eek ....

They have them in the states, but they are just not the same Frown
