Why are trains no-go?
My first thought would have been:
Tube from Borough (or Elephant) to Paddington
Train from Paddington to Aldermaston, with one change at Reading.
(300 m walk to marina acording to this.
But if trains are definitely out, then:
Bus/tube to Victoria
Coach from Victoria to Reading (Megabus, National Express, poss. Greenlines?)
From Reading, Bus No.1towards Newbury.
(if you click to show "all stops" Aldermaston Wharf is on the list)

Or possibly taking the tube out to Heathrow and then take the bus from there. Pop it in google maps as it looks like there are a few options for buses between those two destinations. I don't know the price of those short distance bus routes but they are generally pretty inexpensive.

Thanks - each train route I put in came up as a "no service between these points". Helps to know which stations are biggies!
Train it will be if they will reply to my request to book more than nine seats.
