Let's bring this back to the top, eh?

Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory? Voted a top-rated ice cream factory by Yahoo. And what is the NY water taxi that the woman mentions in the most recent review? Smile

If you want some good but really cheap Indian food, try Minar on 46th St. between 6th and 7th Aves. They have masala dosas (very big) for only $4.50 or so. http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?areaid=0...&cuisineid=32&home=Y

NY Water Taxi Nature Cruise is $25... a bit over priced but I guess they have to make some money.

It's worth it for wildlife that you never get to see often, you can also get a sunset (mostly colorful skies) behind the NYC skyline (lokoing west) the vessels are very, very comfortable and have A/C in the bottom deck. No drinks were served ( I managed to work a diet coke from the people behind the counter $1) it leaves from South Street Seaport, Sats 7:30 PM... get there early, there were loads of people there.

Avoid eating at So. St. Seaport f you can, try taking the train to Broadway and Fulton, walk east, eat at any of the little places around there, you will find Japanese, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Hawaiian, Empanadas and the usual fast food stuff.

Christina !!! What have you been up to?

I have had loads of work, new position for me. But am on top of things now again.

1. 41st and 9th, $1.25 pizza slices, so for those of you who are staying in those cheap motels off the tunnel in the Jersey side this is a spot to load up with food before taking the gypsy bus to the motel.

2. I went to Montreal, wow, not cheap there really. I was also sick, so will have to go again soon.

Oh yeah, I am going to start planning a modern route based on The Old Patagonian Express... any NY'r up for the challenege let me know.

What is this? And might it be cheap or free? (probably not, right?) Do tell all.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but admission to the MET (museum) is actually based on donation - don't be fooled when they try to charge you for entry. Just give them a dollar and they will let you in!

Coming up is the Hispanic New York Film Festival from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1.

Admission to all films: FREE.

And the directors are going to be at each showing, which is pretty cool. So you can ask Leon Ichaso what it was like making a movie about J. Lo I mean Hector Lavao, played by Marc Anthony. Otherwise known as J. Lo's husband.

Most of the films are actually smaller indie films that sound more interesting than "El Cantante".

^^^Ah, I would love to go, I can only come down from Sat-Mon, and it ends on a Saturday. A FREE film festival--and featuring culturally specific films, ah!!!! Thats going to be so good.

If I can rsvp and get the [free] tix, I would go on Saturday. But if its "first come first serve", Id be too disappointed and I dont like standing in line forever.
From Mambo to Hip Hop, I LOVE documentaries..too bad thats on Friday. But Washington Heights sounds good too.
