Cheapest airfare to india???

Figure out the best place to stay on Khao San Road in Bangkok and where to escape when you've had enough of the mayhem. From Singapore Slings to the changes in Bejing after the 2008 Olympics, gab about it all here.

Cheapest airfare to india???

Postby SteppingThru » September 6th, 2007

Can anyone recommend the best(cheapest, but not scary) airline that goes from Los Angeles, California to Delhi, India?

And why are one-way tickets almost as expensive as round-trip tickets????
I'm looking for one-way.

Thanks

I don't know if they go to India but I'm buying my SFO (or LAX) one way tics to Thailand from China airways and they are cheap, $500 one way.

steppinthru, if you come up with anything please let us know...i too am looking for a one way fare to india from NY, but would go from west coast...I haven't found much myself and have checked heaps of sites...all the airlines have been raising the cost of one way fares...its easier than raising round trip cause i bet less people realize the difference

I just posted this on Travel Resources, but I love www.travel-depart.com.
Read my post there, but it seems kind of sketchy, but it works; I've done it many of times.

You can search on the sight, but can't quite book on the site. Even if your selection yields no results, just call the guy and he can search. I find it easiest to probe around for good fares and get an idea of prices and then just call him.

I am going to India Sept 19-October 12th if anyone will be there! Yesterday, I just bought a roundtrip ticket from Chicago for $981 (all in, taxes, fees, etc).

I quit my job and decided to go to India for a few weeks before starting my new one!

Hey Josh, have you looked into Jet Airways? The cost to fly from Newark to Mumbai one-way is USD$747.10 including taxes.

I am also thinking of going to India but since I don't live on the East Coast, it would be harder for me to get a good deal.

Air India is a good bet. They were talking a while ago about extending their operation out to LA. Otherwise, look at a one way ticket to Chicago with Southwest. Then getting Air India (or any other airline) from there to Delhi.
