checking a hiking backpack?

Would it work to just put your pack in one of those nylon laundry bags? I have one that I used in college that would be durable...should I go with that?

The rain cover will fall off as mine did. Another good option is to but a large canvas duffle bag and place you pack inside of that

I use a nylon laundry bag. They are cheap, very lightweight, take up almost no space, and convenient for other things as well.
