Just talked with Oscar Ibarra, owner of los Tres Balcones in Cachora who traveled to Choquequirao with some of his clients and reported that a giant mud slide blocked the Apurimac river for awhile and when it broke through, it wiped out the bridge, so now to get across a zip line has been installed and you and your goodies go across on a zip line, which he said is a lot more fun, but adds a logistic's headache (or opportunity if you are a muleteer on the opposite side). he also said that a snake has been revealed above the Llamas which are the terraces on the back side of Choquequirao, which were only discovered in 2003.l He also said there were more waterfalls cascading off the side hills. When I went across the swaying bridge, it seemed to be quite high above the water, but no more than 50 feet, so the force was like an atomic explosion when it broke the damn.
