Climbers Wanted for Kilimanjaro Climb Late August 2009

Postby red head aussie » January 24th, 2009

Hello there,

After much research I have choosen to use 7summits as my tour opperator and I am looking for other people to join me on the climb. There is currently myself and one other Australian. I am 26 female and love being outdoors, the other climber is 26, male and keen to one day reach the summit of Everest.

Start Date: Mon 24th August (summiting on Sep 1st) return to park gate 2nd Sep.
Route: Lemosho Crater route.
Cost: $2328.00 US

I chose this particualr route as it gives the unique oppertunity to sleep at crater camp oppostie the beautiful glaciers. The second unique thing about this route is that it allows you the oppertunity to explore around the rim of the crater. The route is as follows; day 1: Forest/Mti Mkubwa campsite 2100-2750m, day 2: Shria camp 3500m, day 3: Moir camp 4150m, day 4: acclimatization day- hike to lava tower (4150-4600m), day 5: Barranco camp 3900m, day 6: Karanga Valley 3800-4000m, day 7: Kossovo camp 4800m, day 8: Crater camp 4600-5700m, day 9: Summit 5895m ->Millenium camp 3800m, day 10: Return to park gate.

7summits has a great reputation and great feedback from previous clients. Another thing I liked about them was that they would have camp set up for us each day before we arrived after hiking, and that they have a good evacuation protocol should anything go wrong.

I would love to have a group of about 8 people, as this will reduce the cost of the trip. If your interested in knowing more please contact me :)

A couple months ago I started planning a nice simple trip to Colombia. Now all of a sudden I am getting rid of my apartment and heading to Africa for a couple of months (don't ask about the process because I am still a little unclear). My main goal is Madagascar but have recently started thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro.
We will be two and are both extremely interested as your date is doable for us. We plan on heading back home early September.
I am busy researching still but wanted to express interest in this climb. Neither of us have much experience. My greatest conquest to date is the Inca Trail. But we are from Canada and are very used to freezing our asses off in tents.
I would like to get more information on this particular trip if you have the time to send it. In the meantime I will continue researching on my own.

It sounds like a great trip and itenary. My problem is that I need to be back in Califorrnia by the evening of September 2 or the AM of the 3rd. Are your dates locked in or could you start a couple days earlier?

Hi there

We are planning on a similar trip to yours but on Sept 10th ish. We would like to spend an evening at summit rather than getting up at 12am to summit.
