- started the new year with my first ever skinny dip
(in the ocean at coffee bay, south africa)

I am now addicted to midnight skinny dippin!!!!

within the last week...went open water SCUBA diving for the first time without an instructor

-Went to Spain
-Gained an ambassador position while a first year
-Went back to England for the 2nd time
-Countined university in Scotland
-Studied Arabic for a month in Yemen, can't wait to go back to the ME!
-Spent the summer back in the US
-Have a very good job to go back to for the summer
-Became photography chief for uni paper=free tickets to everything and I get to do what I love
-Went to Amsterdam
-Want badly to quit university

traveled solo again
took a green tortoise trip
spent 3 months in mexico
freelance entreprenuership
got my motorcycle license
finished my culinary arts certificate
applied to grad school
salsa dancing lessons
took cooking classes in mexico
selected for semester at sea gig
saw mary j blige and the roots in concert
pet(ted) a 16 meter whale
ate fish tacos on baja
drank mezcal
traveled with strangers
took spanish classes in guanajuato
got visa stamps in my passport
donated to hurricane katrina efforts
stayed in a hostel
cinco de mayo in mexico city
sara jones on broadway

What a year!

fell in love
filled my passport
started writing full-time
traveled to the end of the world
trekked the Bokeo Reserve in Laos
island hopped in Thailand
hiked El Yunque
got drunk (for the first time)
moved (twice)
started a travel blog (Traveler's Pen)
trained for a bike marathon

I know there's more, but my mind is blank.

New things I did in 2006 (in rough chronological order):

-Had a foursome in Flores, Guatemala.
-Bought a suit ... several of them, actually.
-Made my first in-court argument before a judge.
-Was robbed blind from my hotel (this was seriously a first).
-Fell in love with Mexico.
-Fell in love with a Mexican.
-Became comfortable with acknowledging that I'm an asshole.
