Hey fellas!
When I prepared my round the world trip I started one year before leaving home. And in all that time I have been going through all sort of websites and books, reading about what to consider, what gear to bring, how to charge my electronics, which tent to choose and how many socks to pack. And even after leaving home I still manage to learn new things while being on the road. All the info out there is so widely spread that once you find out about something you would not know where to share it. But if it was possible to channel all this information this could become something amazing. So while travelling I try to put a guidebook together which covers all that.

Not much to see there yet but hey it's just a month and only me while I am still travelling^^
(Some may get the hint to "The Hitchhikers Guide Through The Galaxy". The idea kinda came when I was asked to become a travel blogger for a website and got named the "happy hermit". Therefore the name for the book became "The Happy Hermits Guide Around The World".)

The ultimate goal is to have an ebook, downloadable for free, constanly being updated and extended covering all the questions you could possibly have before and while trvelling. No matter what you plan to do.

It is a huge project and alone it will take me years to accomplish. I will do it one way or the other but I am sure there are others who think the same as me. So maybe some in here want to help me making this big?

Any help, idea or criticism is welcome :)

And here is a little quote for the end:

"Imagine a world without free knowledge."

Hi Paul,

I like this idea. After learning about the joys travel, I was thinking something similar myself. Like you say though, it would take a lot of time to collate all of that information and one of the difficulties is finding things that everyone would find useful.

Targeting your information might be more useful. For example I was thinking about free travel the other day. I guess that free travel is only for certain types of people but it interests me. Anyway, here's something about free travel that you might or might not find useful. It addresses some of the issues that people will be thinking about when on a super tight budget.
