Cycling the orient Express route

Postby cycle_giant » March 7th, 2009

Im considering cycling from Munich Germany to Istanbul this summer via the euro velo 6 and the orient express routes. has anybody completed this route and what tips could you share, especially passing through Romania, Bulgaria and into Istanbul.
i will be starting the cycle late June and will be aiming to complete the trip within a month, im aware that in some parts the weather could get a bit extreme that time of year, but should this be a cycle that is best completed in the Spring/ Autumn time?.
Also, is there many campgrounds once you get off the euro velo 6 route, and if anyone has done this what costs are you looking at per day once you get past Austria?

Any comments would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks,
