Hi everybody!

I am Osman from southeastern city of Diyarbakir in Turkey. I have recently graduated from ELT department and I am a language instructor at university now (too young for that!).

I love travelling so much! I like to discover new places, people and culture. It is fantastic to meet new people and broaden horizons. I am also working on a project in which i aim to bring all little hotels in Balkans and Anatolia with a friend of mine. I have a blog and enjoy posting there;

Feel free to send me pm if you have anything to ask, or if you just want one more friend here around! ;)
The best of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and travel notes for geeks.

Hi guys,

I'm Julie, 22, from Ireland! Just starting to plan a year trip, starting next January hopefully if all the saving goes to plan. Thinking of starting in India, with Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, China to follow. Then onto Oz to meet a million relations and maybe get a job for a while and replenish funds! Hopfully then on to south America. Been to most places around western and eastern Europe now and travelled around California last year too.

Can't wait to get out of here! :D

Hello all,

I'm Lauren, 22, and currently I am in Austin, TX. I work for the state in a soul-crushing capacity but, hey, I have benefits! Soon, I will be forsaking said benefits for a highly insane trip through this great nation, followed by an extreme working spree, followed by a soljourn to Ireland. I was going to dive right in to Ireland but I figured I better test myself in the shallow end. (and this way my dogs can come with)

I'm really excited to be on here and to start my life as a traveler.

Later

Lauren

Hi, I'm Aaron.

I grew up travelling with my grandparents. They took me to Mexico a few times, Arizona, New Mexico, and Canada. When I graduated University I went right to work rather than hitting the open road. After about 4 years of being a corporate wage slave I gave it up.

To date I've lived in South Korea for 3 years and now I'm living in China. My travel plans are pretty low speed. I move from country to country teaching English and visit what interests me. This saves me the hassle of having having to save up a huge amount of money for a rushed trip.

Can't wait to get down to Laos that is my next country!

Hey ya'll. I'm just a sassy stiletto-wearing chickie from Alabama.

My first international travel was November 2008 on my honeymoon where we traveled to Italy, Greece, and Turkey. I was terrified of flying but after getting up the courage to get on the airplane (with a little help from Mr. Valium) I am HOOKED on traveling. I must find a way to go more places! Quite frankly, I would have gotten on the plane regardless of any level of fear. It has been my dream since I was a little girl go to Italy. Now I can say I've been. I'd love to move there.

Next month I am going to New York City - my second most favorite spot on earth. Rome, Italy being my first.

If I could figure out a way to get paid for traveling then I'd surely do it, but then again, wouldn't we all? Yeah, dream job for sure.

OK then, I reckon that's about it for now.

May your boots always have mud on them,

Hello.
Mike here from Okinawa, Japan. Just joined and am learning my way around. I've lived here 30 years or so and am a wildlife photographer, just getting into some travel writing (photo essays) to help spread the word about the great places to visit, eat and drink on this tropical island.

Re: Don't be Shy - INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE

Postby Kelric » June 12th, 2009

So I guess I might as well make my introductory post count a bit since it seems to be the first one in more than a week...

I was born in the Boston area in 1984 and have grown up in and around the city ever since. As a child I traveled with my family all around New England. We also hit up Great Britain, Kansas (I have cousins there) and the 1996 Olympics (amongst other players). We departed Atlanta the day before the bomb was set off. That means a lot less to me now than it used to. I love the fact that while having lunch at the Smithsonian, we ran into the man who made the best ice cream on the East Coast (http://ronsicecream.com/) that was created a few blocks from where I grew up. And that my older sisters slept through every important war memorial along the way.

At one point I asked one of my sisters who won the Civil War. Her answer was "We did?" The emphasis was honestly on the question mark. Then again, this is the same blonde sister who thought that 'ruff' was a legitimate usage and spelling for hard times.

Since those memorable family vacations I have spent some time in the Seattle area by myself visiting a friend, as well as spending a month in Australia. Two of the weeks there were spent with environmental volunteer work. The other two weeks were spent trying to see as much of the eastern coast as possible.

I hope to spend the month of July in the Adirondacks of New York and gearing myself for a real job in the upcoming winter. Next spring will hopefully see an intense dedication to getting the hell out of Dodge and WWOOF-ing my way around Europe. Worst case, I'll spend a month or two in Britain with friends of the family. I just know that I can't continue sticking around here, despite loving the greater Boston area.

As Palahniuk said (and to be incredibly cheesy):

Without just one nest
A bird can call the world home
Life is your career

Postby m&pg » June 14th, 2009

Hi,
I'm Miriam, 31 from the UK, my husband is also 31 - he was born in Australia but has lived in the UK since he was about 12. We have 2 daughters - eldest will be 5 in November (she starts school in September), youngest will be 2 in September.
I'm facing redundancy, so we're going to make the most of the opportunity and are planning a RTW trip, leaving next August/September. We're mainly looking to go to places in SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand, perhaps some South Pacific islands - we were considering incorporating a cruise somehow.
We're thinking we'll rent out our house here and travel for about 12months, home schooling our eldest daughter (our little one won't miss out on any school, but I can see her being interested in her big sisters lessons!).
Pre-kids we went on a couple of longer holidays to America, but neither of us have done the back-packing travel light thing.
With kids, we've been to America a couple of times, Euro Disney, Croatia, Portugal and a disasterous ski trip when our oldest was 18months.
Looking forward to hearing other peoples experiences and getting some ideas
:) Miriam.

We've just set up a blog for our upcoming RTW trip. So far these boards have been very useful for planning, but we've still got so much to do...

Hello people! I've been visiting the Bootsnall website for years now, so I thought it was about time to join the comunity.

I am Charles, 26, from the UK and I'm an avid traveller and more recently, a freelance writer. I've had a thing for Eastern Europe for years now, and having lived in Lithuania, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Romania, I still have a lot more places to experience. Georgia and Amenia next I hope. :P
