Hey guys,

I'm looking for suggestions for good companies that organise volunteer placements. It seems to me that a lot of them charge a lot of "administrative fees" that both lighten my hip pocket and don't seem to go to helping those in need.

I'm looking for a 2-4 week program in July or August of this year. I'm not quite sure what I'd like to do but I just feel that I want to give something back. Some things I might be interested in:
- Teaching basic computer skills
- Some form of media related volunteering (journalism, video etc)
- Volunteering involving animal conservation
- Other suggestions?

Cheers guys

Daniel

I did a 3 week volunteer project last summer through VFP (Volunteers for Peace). This was one of the cheapest organizations that I could find. They have different sites worldwide that do different projects ranging from environmental work, to working with children, preserving historic sites, etc. They hook up with international volunteer organizations. It's worth a look to search and see if it's something your interested in. I believe the website is www.vfp.org. Good Luck
