I know, I'm thinking of checking it out.

The thing is, everyone on these boards keeps saying, "Spend three days in Singapore, and you don't want to be there longer than that!"

Granted, working abroad is much different from traveling, but I really wish it were the Thai or Australian government opening up its doors to Americans....

Crazy? Not quite.
It's all in the name of an interesting life.

It's the cleanliness. Hippies hate cleanliness.

Oh, and if possible, be kind to Jester and Stoo.

If you do go to Singapore, be aware that a lot of different activities can land you in hot water. Here's a site with some information. I read through it and would like to point out a bit that might be of concern to any Jewish travelers:

Bringing along your pet

All dogs and cats imported into Singapore have to be kept in quarantine for at least a period of 30 days. All expenses are for the owner of the pet. You must obtain an import license from the City Veterinary Center two weeks before the date of import.

For dogs there has become a new rule into effect since 2001, which tells that dogs brought into the city have to be equipped with microchips containing the dog's health record. This measurement has been taken to prevent the import / spreading of rabbis.

We recently bought a puppy and apparently didn't check it closely enough because as soon as we got it in the house three or four rabbis jumped off of it. Now they're running amok circumcizing everything in sight.
