What Training Class Certificate (120 hr, 4 week with practice teaching) is best for getting jobs worldwide? What about in Korea, Vietnam or Eastern Europe?

Thanks for any ideas.

Check out this site: i to i.

Scroll down and you'll see the section about getting TEFL certified.

They have various programs combining online and on-site and some you can do all online.

In Europe the CELTA has the edge in terms of reputation, but in the rest of the world most employers don't care. They would generally like to know that you completed a 100-120 course with a minimum of 6-8 hours of supervised teaching practice teaching REAL students (not teaching the other teacher-trainees).

Demo lessons are becoming much more common to separate the chaff from the wheat.

As a wide variety of companies provide pretty decent courses, it is probably best to look at a program in terms of what YOU need or would like to walk away with in terms of skills and experience(s).

If you want to teach kids and that is your goal - many programs will have your teaching practice be only teaching adults - better to know that before you go. Or, vice versa, if you have no intention of ever teaching children (I never did in 15 years - well for three months once), make sure your practice will include teaching adults and not kids.

Most people recommend also that you take the course in the country in which you would like to start teaching - for many good reasons.

There is a good list of questions - and even some checklists of things you should ask of such a program and many things to consider - try the free ebook at TEFLeBooks.com How to Chose a TEFL Certification Course to help you make the decision.
