The last couple of days I have been trying to come up with a way to travel and work abroad before I head off to Law school in a year or so. After a lot of thought, the idea of being an intern at a Law firm abroad popped into my head. I have worked as a paralegal/assistant/environmental landman for the last couple of years so I have a little bit of experience. This brings me to my question: is this a decent idea or am I getting too far ahead of myself? I was hoping to maybe do three to four month internships in different countries like Japan, China, and UAE. Has anybody done anything like this?
Thank you in advance for any replies. -Jeff |

Hi Jeff, I did an internship in China last year through a company before going to study law at uni. I had no experience of 'real' law so it was really useful for me. I was often involved with tasks like proofreading, but I was also doing case research which was great. It seems like you already have experience, but it could still be useful to you, and being in Shanghai is amazing! The company is expensive but you get lots of staff support, an apartment to live in and money to eat out for every meal. If you go on this link you can read about it, other people have written about their experiences.
