Knows What a Schengen Visa Is
Posted
Hi everyone,

A friend of mine interviewed at a temp agency. As part of the hiring process, she's been asked to fill out something called Acknowledgement and Consent for Release of Consumer Reports. It's a release to get all sorts of information about her, including credit reports and medical records.

Anyone ever have to do this before, particularly for a temp job?

Thanks!

Ed

I had to fill one of those out before working both of my contracts at Microsoft through Volt. They said it was more for positions where you deal with financial data, etc. For my jobs, I just had to pass the criminal background check.

All financial institutions require this...like banks, or credit card companies etc. If you worked as a telephone operator there. Maybe they want all this so that her job pool becomes larger. I was asked for a through background check more than the ususal after my first round of interviews with Visa long time back.

I've had to do this for every job I've ever had, I believe, even temp jobs.

The temp agency is her official employer, regardless of where her assignments may land her. I would think that because she is representing them, and thus their liability, they want to make sure she checks out fine.

ETA: In many states she also has a right to a copy of the report. I always check the yes box for that.

I've had to fill one of these out all the time too.

But I don't think all companies really go through and study your consumer report if it's not necessary.

Makes you miss back in the day when they didn't have to fingerprint you(some companies do this), credit report you, and make you go to the bathroom in a cup!
