Uggh!! my job is making me physically sick. Yet, research shows, its a pretty good job, in a nice office with alot of perks and flexible time off...
I'm a Corporate meeting producer, and video editor, of said corporate meetings.... My job search has shown that new positions would be for far less money, as an editor, as new technology has made it easier that when I started 8 years ago. As for producing, the market is leaning towards freelancers, and my freelancing friends tell me my staff job is a thing of the past in the new market. What to do??? I want less hours, more than 5 people in the office, sometime offsite at clients, health insurance and over $50,000 a year. Plus, of course I want to be able to travel. Does any of this ring any bells out there? Maybe some of you "outside the box" thinkers can suggest a complementary job...aka, university, government or non-profit? Thanks!!! The Gates Foundation, actually has a job search that says, "what is your ideal job" cross reference and search engine what they have to offer. Cool, but there wasn't anything for me. (I said, shooting stock footage of their campaigns, then managing the video library for future use) ************************* "dry and brittle does no good for dreams of fields in passioned hues. and to bring you to this place I'm at brings me no closer to you..." -The temptation to pick wildflowers- |

Since NYC is the capital of capitalism, where time is money, I'd say you're going to have a hell of a time finding exactly what you want there. Have you considered a change of environment?
