I like the idea of this. I've recently been pigeonholed into translating and backtranslating vendor contracts into and from legal Spanish, and it sucks. There are some abilities it's best an employer not know about.

Hehe, I know the feeling!

When I first started working for companies (my naive days!) I always used to tell them that I spoke Welsh and French... within no time at all you're bombarded with extra work for the same pay and occasionally an "oh it's so impressive that you can do that!"... the novelty soon ware's off so now I never mention it and often lower my standard of English ... after the interview that is Big Grin

Thank you for the term, strategic incompetence. It fits our office dynamic perfectly. I'm going to add that on to my own term, collective amnesia, which is used for the countless meetings about the same things, that burden my daydreaming and Boots time.
