Holds PhD in Packing

Hey hey,

After reading posts by people jacking in their jobs and becoming very envious, I've finally booked a plane ticket and have set my last day of work as December 13th. It's ages away still but it feels great!

On December 14th I'm heading home to Canada for 3 weeks then back to London and then who knows. I'm tempted just to get on a train or bus and see where I end up. The idea is to move in the general direction of Beijing where I'll stay put for awhile and have a crack at learning Mandarin and hang out until the Olympics. Then who knows.

The really exciting thing for me is that this could be my exit from the corporate world - forever! I plan to spend a lot of my time working on a bunch of websites I have with the hope that they'll start earning enough to support me. So far so good so I'm hoping for the best.

See you out on the road in 2008!

Kirsty

Congrats Kirsty!

And I think your lack of a plan is a great plan Smile
Always best in my oppinion to "just see what happens"

I like your idea of just heading towards Beijing as there's tons of interesting places in that direction.
I'd love to head to Beijing during the Olympics, I'm sure there'll be an amazing atmosphere.

Good luck with learning Mandarin!

Congrats Kirsty!

I've been envious of each person who posts about quitting their job since I joined BootsnAll last Summer.

I've set my date around the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of November. I'm still keeping it a little loose so I can make a few extra bucks toward the end if I need to. Otherwise, I'm giving about a month's notice, so that means 3 months until I spill the news.

It'll be a big relief to let the cat out of the bag at work.

Kirsty,

Isn't it fabulous?! I kind of live by this philosophy - "whatever happens, I'll handle it." I'm ashamed of myself for letting the presence or absence of money dictate my happiness. I hope your web site endeavor works out - usually when your passionate about something and you are doing it for you, it's successful. Have fun!!
