It's all about balance, folks. You can all whinge about your lives, but you have the choice to change it. And no, this is not a self-help lecture.
I have a tough corporate job - again - after two years of footloose travelling. Very hard to settle down but hey! work brings the bucks to travel more. After working for three months, I took off for a month backpacking in Eastern Europe. I went 4x4ing through Lesotho. I took a week at the end of last year and went wine-drinking in the Cape, then 4x4ing in the Baviaanskloof for a couple of days and lying on the beach, restoring my soul, for the rest. I head out of town to somewhere new at least once a month over a weekend. Travelling is a state of mind as much as a new destination - so get with the programme. It doesn't take much money - camp, sleep in the car, on the beach, whatever. Just be free, be interested, loosen up and cut the moaning. This year's Tibet/Nepal/Himalayas, and Botswana, and Mozambique and who knows what other whims I'll make reality. And yes, I manage to do it within the (tight) constraints of annual leave. Just get out there and do it! Have fun...

I thought about doing my trip with a leave but lets face it. Theres more to life then my 21$ an hr job. And when it almost gets you killed and you hate it? Then its time to open the gate and get the hell out. I did just that and I'm getting out to Tanzania,Africa for six months then I'll come back to reality for six months. What happens after that? Who cares. Thailand,Burma,malaysia are cheap. maybe six months there next winter? heres my web site again for Tanzania if anyones bored...My first try so I'm a bit proud of it
