I'm not trying to steal your ideas I just wondered what new design ideas for gear people have come up with.

Here's a couple of mine.

Ever watched a gas burner heat a kettle of water? Notice how the flame hits the bottom of the kettle, spreads out sideways then goes up the outside? I was thinking if we could trap all that heat using a metal shirt to the kettle that ran all the way up the outside the kettle would be surrounded by a layer of hot gas, heating more efficiently. Is this good thinking or bullshit? You be the judge.

Here's another one. I was camping in Alaska and had to hike down a valley to get water from a stream, which was a real pain. Sitting in my tent, watching gallons of water cascade off of it I was wondering about making a plastic tubing attachment that would run diagonally down the tent directing the water into a spout. Is this good thinking or bullshit? Again, you be the judge.
