Have you guys checked out the most recent version of Google Earth? It's cool - people can now upload pictures of places they've been. I've been "virtually traveling" all over the world trying to decide where I want to go next. It's quite useful. For instance, I'm going to the Philippines in the fall and am trying to pick out what islands I want to visit. Guidebooks are, of course, helpful, but having pictures gives a better impression (sometimes of the place). If nothing else, it's just a cool feature, really.

Plus, it occupies time while I'm unfortunately glued to my desk.

Thanks for the info. I'm glued to my desk for five more days and I need all the distractions I can get.

Thanks for the tip. I'm stuck in a high-rise in the loop in Chicago and dreaming of the time I spent in India almost 2 years back. I should upload some of the pics of less traveled places I visited. Maybe if people could see how amazing these places are, more people would make them part of their itineraries.
Also looking forward to spending the rest of the week *in* Morocco and Mexico! Can't decide where I want to spend the 2 weeks I took off around thanksgiving this year. Can't believe it's only 2 weeks. I was going to go to Turkey (for Thanksgiving, instead of eating it, as is tradition) but after a bit or research decided to make it a summer destination instead.
