Do any of you guys have recurring dreams about travel? I am constantly going on trips in my dreams and they are so strange (of course they ARE dreams) I have recuring "hotel" dreams where I may not actually be on a trip but i'm in a hotel. It is the most common of my travel dreams. Then there is the dream where another country just so happens to be the next town over and I can just walk there. I had a dream the other night where I was driving north on the interstate towards Gainesville FL and one of the exits along the way just so happened to be for Hungary. I got off and there I was ... right in the middle of Budapest and it actually looked it does.

I have had a dream just like that but with France as the "close" destination. I haven't been to either of the 2 previously but it just seemed very real.

I also have dreams centered around the transportation involved with travel.

Last night was the latest one and it was an airplane dream ... I was taking off at night with my best friend who has never been out of the country. One time I was on a subway and every stop was a different country and it was extremely high-speed. I could get off at Moscow and then the next stop might be in Morocco or Bangladesh.

Thought it might be interesting to hear if anyone else had these kinds of dreams.

I wish I had those kind of dreams. Mine are mostly disturbing, and I can't even fly in them. All I can do is glide down staircases...

Hahahahha. True. I tell myself my dreams are kind of lacklustre because I have such a rich, fulfilling waking life :-)

I love it.

I used to fly in my dreams over what I believed to be somewhere in Europe, but I have never been there...while awake. Sometimes my dreams will take me up into the mountains as well. Some of those have been the most realistic dreams I have had.

I'm almost always flying in my dreams, but land really hard on my ass all the time. And, unfortunately when I'm dreaming about travel it usually involves me dying somehow.

Joey T....Your dreams sound great. I wish I could dream about being in different countries all the time. My dreams are very vivid, but they tend to be about me protecting my life. Not sure why. However, maybe I'll try and make myself dream about traveling till I go on my next adventure.

Daisy, they saw... and they all made fun of you! buahaha.

I have had a few flying dreams as well but not very often. I had a dream I was flying into Bali. Its funny because I have no clue what Bali would look like flying in from the water. I wasn't flying like a bird though... I was kind of in a seated position but there was no seat or vehicle at all. Reminds me of that movie they made us watch in school... about the kid in the chair with all the balloons? Anyone remember that?

I get loads of travel dreams, usually when I'm feeling bored and restless! Most of the time, people I met when away will turn up somewhere random here, or I invent crazy schemes (whilst asleep) which will lead me back to Japan, Sydney, etc.

Weird! :Smile

That reminds me about this one time I fell asleep in the tv room of my college. I was dream flying, and when I woke up the room was full...where it was empty before. Everyone was facing me cause I was laying under the television. Some were giggling and the rest were eerily quiet. Someone fessed up that I had been squeaking and murmuring like a little monkey. Plus I had drewl all over my shoulder.

I had a strange dream last night sorta about travelling... I was at my grandparents house (my grandfather was still alive), and I realized I hadn't made plans to get to the airport yet for my flight at like, 10:30 (and it was 9am, which is strange since the airport is about 1.5 hrs away)... so I opened the newspaper and called this random lady who offered $8 rides to the airport. Then she got mad because I was late, and she said it was my fault that her kids weren't going to eat breakfast. So we stopped at a gas station and I gave them money for candy.

It was really weird... but i don't know if I made it to the airport or not...

speaking of waking up all disoriented..

once i was at my friend's house when i fell asleep on his couch. i sort of woke up later on and his family and all his cousins were just sitting around me chatting ot each other just ignoring me and my friend was like 'good morning!!!' and then i saw it was 1am. then i laughed and then i fell back asleep and then i got woken up again and the room full of his family was gone and our friends were just starting to walk in through the door. i looked at the time and it was around 4am and i got soo confused because i wasn't sure if it was 4am or 4pm lol. that was the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me. well, one of them at least. Last week I explored the temples of Angkor for 4 days. At night after the last day my dreams invloved me climbing all over the temples. My brain must have been on overload or something. It could also have been all the beer I drank that night.

I once dreamt I was Darth Vader leading a Panzer division over the Forth bridge. My brother was watching me from and Avro Lancaster Bomber that was being radio controlled (my brother can't fly a plane!). Safe to say, I have weird dreams. I feel that one day I'll be explaining all this to a therapist!

I love dreaming and have often felt that I've recognised places from other dreams in my more recent dreams to the point where I can almost recreate a map in my mind. One day I'll visit this place in reality and swear that I've been tehre before. deja vu

When you dream, everything you dream is real.
It only becomes a dream when you wake up.

I once had a dream I was in my parents bathroom while they were throwing a boring but loud dinner party. Suddenly the skylight opened up and I was able to fly out. I escaped and flew all over the place, and it felt like treading water...very strange. I flew all over the neighboorhood and whatnot...it was the best dream because I felt so free. But eventually I returned to the skylight and figured I could escape again if I needed to. But later when I tried to leave the skylight was shut tight.
Kind of sad huh...
But the other night I had a dream I was backpacking around Europe. It was like a movie montage. One minute I'm leaning on my backpack in a train station, the other I'm slugging it down a dark windy road, the next I'm in a car rolling past lush green hills...made me smile when I woke up.
