Hi to all.

I'm starting a year trip in mid-April with an RTW ticket and choosing the dates is driving me nuts! I know I want to fly from London to Dheli on Apr 13, but other than that my mind is spinning with options, so the question is if this flight timeframe is realistic (flight dates r bold):

London-Dheli -Apr 13th then go south for a week, another week in Sri-Lanka, and up the western coast and chilin' in Goan beaches for a month.
Start June going for a week into Pakistan, & back to Dheli to pickup some friends & do the Jaipur, Agra, Varanassi tour.
Start July into Nepal for a month & do some treks (if the king has been overthrown or come to his senses, that is)
Start August going through Darjeeling, then a week in Bangladesh, another 10 days arround Calcutta

Calcutta- HoChiMin -Aug 20th then go up to Saigon 2 weeks, Cambodia another 2 weeks, Laos 10 days.
Start October into Thailand 2 months to rest and party a bit, with the mandatory 10 day escapade into Burma.
Start December into Malaysia, Indonesia with new year's in Bali. Back to Singapore &

Singapore- Perth -Jan 4th 1 month crossing to Adelaide & up to Cairns

Cairns- Christchurch -Feb 2nd explore NZ 1 month
Auckland- Fiji - March 3rd
Fiji- Cook Islands - March 11th
Cook Is.- Tahiti - March 21st
Tahiti - L.A. - Apr 2nd fly to Miami to visit my brother 1 week and...
Miami - London - Apr 12 (then hang out until the World Cup, & start again) Big Grin

does this seem right, cuz I'm thinking I might be running too much, what do you think? Is a week enough for Fiji & those tiny islands? Do you think Bali is great for N.Year or is it too touristy now & maybe someplace in Thailand is better? can you recommend one? Weather-wise I think most places are ok, but those of you who know the places must know better. Any imput, advice, critiques & recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks a zillion Smile

PS: I know I'm not giving OZ enough time, but I'm focusing on Indian subcon & SE Asia this trip, OZ will be for another year.

Cheers

thanx for the input dude! yeah I think it's a sweet trip, at least on paper it seems so. Next year during the World Cup I'll tell you how it was, & maybe can give you a usefull hint or two.

Meanwhile keep on savig all you can dude! Better to spend it traveling than on some trinkets or starbucks Wink

Sounds like a cool trip! My thoughts are these:

Way more time needed in India. A week in South India? South India is HUGE. Smile In a week you could barely get to only one place. A month in Goa might be a bit long... well it would have been for me. I was there a week, and that was plenty- there is only so many stoned Israeli guys with their asscracks hanging out I could handle. Razz Ten days is definately too long for Calcutta- I'd say 4 is fine.

What else... if you are going to make the effort to get to Pakistan and Laos, a week in each is much too short. I'd say either extend for a few weeks or leave it for another trip. These are all places that take time to get around. A week wouldn't even scratch the surface. When I was in Laos, it took forever to get anywhere because the roads are so limited and you definately didn't want to fly Lao Aviation... that said, its the getting places and meeting people along the way that made it fun.

Don't make too much of a schedule. Work it out as you go along. Have fun man.
