Dear friends,

I am from Delhi, India. I had done a search on something related to "environmental spirituality" which led me to a thread on this forum - that is how I discovered the Bootsnall forums.

I am associated with social/ environmental activism. My interests are : saving enviroonment, study of mind and spiritual healing.

I have done very little travelling in the outer world but I have travelled a lot inside - in the inner world. I will be posting my article in the "Spiritual Traveler" Forum.

Thank You.

I would like to see abandoned places/buildings. So I'm going to travel Estonia next month for 1-2 weeks and I hope to find them.

Until now I have done only one backpack travel, it was in Eastern Europe in year 2006 and it took 2,5 weeks. It was basic sleeping hostel, seeing sightseeings, zoos etc.

Oho, I almost forgot. I'm 23 years old and I'm from Finland.

Heya, all!

My name is Chris and I'm a citizen of the United States of America.

Everyone: "Hi, Chris!"

Thanks for the welcome. I'm a traveler by calling, and love exploring without more than a map and a thirst for adventure. I've traveled all across the United States, having visited each of the contiguous forty-eight. I usually travel by car, but am planning a backpacking trip through Mexico and Central America starting in early 2009 (after I graduate from college in December of this year). I love meeting new people on the road, and I'm hoping that I'll have the opportunity to meet more people backpacking, and to spend more time with the people I meet with whom I feel a connection.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you on this forum, and to having a few of my questions answered, as well as answering any questions that others might have. I hope everyone here is experiencing his or her life in the way that he or she wants to.

Any questions? Feel free to ask me.

Chris

Hi
my name is Gabriel Tan and I've just joined bootsnall. I live in Singapore and if you need Singapore travel info, I'd be glad to share whatever I know. I enjoy travel photography and have put a few photos of my home city at a website called eTour Singapore.

In the next 12 months, I hope to do an extended self-drive tour of either Malaysia or Thailand. And I hope to spend more time in the villages than in the cities.

See you around.

Hi all, my name is Aoife (pronounced Eefa for those non Gaelic speakers, I've been called everything from Effy to Alfie in the past), I'm a 26 year old Irish girl (um...woman I suppose...) and in the throes of planning a year long trip to South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. I'm jacking in the security of a good (read: deathly boring) job for adventure, excitement and really cheap hostels.

I'm lucky enough to have grown up in the west of Ireland which has some incredibly wild and beautiful scenery. I've travelled around Europe a bit, mainly Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Greece, and lived in Montréal for 5 months a couple of years ago. However I've always had somebody at my side during the past; this is the first trip I'm taking on my own. The excitement of the places I'm going to see and the people I'm going to meet is just about quashing my fear of the unknown.

I visited this forum initially to do some research into the countries I'm planning on visiting, but have found myself lingering because of the community atmosphere and the good hearted advice of veteran travellers. I look forward to posting a helluva lot in the coming year!

Hi everyone, I'm Christa and I'm from Malta (Europe), which is a little island in the Mediterranean. I just bought my tickets for a trip to the States and South America next month. I'm trying to figure out how to stretch my money enough to let me go to Australia/New Zealand/Asia after spending a couple of months in Europe and then coming back home next June....Also trying to find out how to make the most of what suddenly seems like only a short 10 months!

but I'm going to give you the world, so you won't need anything else

For my very first post I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself to the community.

My name is Rick and I am a 21 year old Greek/Italian/German boy and joined up to learn a little bit about traveling and hopefully create more of a desire to get out and see the world. Ive basically lived in Boise Idaho my whole life but i have visited Greece several times and dabbled into Turkey. This all happened when I was young and dependent on my family but now I'm here to fully experience the other continents and be able to appreciate it more.

I am currently planning an eastern europe trip with a friend (mostly by myself since he is up in Valdez, AK doing some commercial fishing) and found this site, which hands down, has the most valuable information I have found yet. But i would like to get more opinions and info and that is why im here!

Cheers!

Hello world!!!

I'm from India. The land of diverse culture. I have visited half of India (since India is very big from the point of tourist adventures) and US. I like to wander a lot. Tour to Eastern Europe is my dream. Hopefully in next couple of years I can realize this dream.

I have been really impressed by this forum and can be considered as Travel Guide for any wanderer.

Thanks a lot for such a wonderful community. I hope to contribute towards it. Constructively and positively!!!

Hi everyone!

There's an old saying that says, "Some people travel only to look, while others come to see." When a friend was studying-abroad in Beijing last May, I decided to go take a look. I ended up seeing so much more than I had bargained for, and I've been hooked on traveling ever since.

Since I had my return flight paid for already, I went home and directly bought a one way ticket to Frankfort, Germany that left a week later. I came home two months later with an itch I can't scratch. I want to see it all!

I have my flight booked to and from Australia for a month beginning the middle of this upcoming December, but after I disovered this website and RTW travel (which I've been dreaming about since I got back from Europe, just dind't know there was a name for it), I'm going to cancel my return flight and keep going for about six months.

I'm a construction worker who can't wait to quit and go to school full time, which I will do once I get back from my next big trip. Funny, I quit school to work 5 years ago.

So until December, I'll just have to live vicariously through all of you!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Sue and I am from New England in the US. In the past few years I have become addicted to travel and can't get enough. Unfortunately on my meager salary and two jobs to afford it I don't get to go as offen as I would like.
This year, actually this month, we are traveling to Italy.
Rome is our first stop with a 12 day cruise ( Turkey, Greece, Istanbul ) and then a week in Tuscany. So if anyone has advise, feel free.
I joined BootsnAll for info on this trip and chat with others to get ready to plan my next traveling adventure.

Safe traveling
Sue

Hello my name is Brett from Dana Point, California (Orange County). I'm 30 yrs old and incredibly passionate about long term travel, being active outdoors and new experiences. I'm currently working towards creating a mobile/semi-automated business so that traveling is no longer considered a vacation from - but a way of life.

I would love to surround myself with people that share similar passions so don't hesitate to send me a quick email at BrettErskine At GMail Dot Com

Hello,

We're Brian and Amy, and we've been bitten by the travel bug. When not traveling, all it seems that we do is plan our next big trip (perhaps this is a sickness) ;-) The things we love most about traveling are learning about other cultures and history, experiencing new foods and drinks (can't forget the cocktails). We live in the US in New England.

Amy is currently in grad school part-time and is expecting to be done in 3 years. And we're both a couple of tech geeks by day.

After Amy graduates, we're hoping to sell the homestead and everything else and take of for a gap year abroad. We're focusing on Asia as our primary destination, with a final stop in an English speaking country to help us assimilate back (if that's even possible). Afterwards, Amy hopes to teach at a US college/university abroad, and Brian will hopefully have a small web business that he can operate from anywhere!

We've been to Ireland, England, Scotland, Prague, Vienna, Saltzburg, Florence, San Gimignano, and Venice in Europe; and too many places in the US to list.

Our next trips include but are not limited to:
Spain for a week in Jan 2009
Charleston (again, can't get enough of this place) in May 2009.
Long weekends here and there anywhere that's within 4 hours drive of CT.

We've been reading these forums for a while now, and we're happy to have become members so that we can give back!

Brian and Amy

Hello All,

My name's Jon and I'm from the New York Region. I'm planning to travel Asia and Europe for around 6 months after I graduate from college in December. I haven't really traveled to many places outside of the Caribbean and Israel. I can't really see any other time in the near future where i'll have 6 months of complete freedom so I want to make the most of it.

I'm planning on going solo and hopefully meeting people on the way. I really have no clue what I'm getting myself into, but i'm extremely excited for it.
I'm here to try and learn as much as I can about Asia, Europe, and the entire travel experience.

Anyway that's me.

Jon
