Hi,

I am currently travelling with my hubby and two kids aged 14 and 12. We are in the USA for about 25 days, starting in Los Angeles, New York, up-state, back to New York, and then a few nights in San Francisco on the way back home - Australia.

I haven't travelled a lot - the most extensive trip was nearly a year travelling in South America in 1980. Some years ago I loaded up a blog on this site and called it Viva South America that gives an overview of the trip. Travelling is great fun, but also hard work, and travelling with a grumpy teenager that is highly embarrased by his dopy parents who don't always know the fastest way around whatever can be trying. So far we've only had about four nights in Hollywood and thereabouts and 'he' was grumpy a fair bit of the time - but on the plane on the way out - he says - ah I'm coming back here with Sam, his mate.

Anyhow, a little about me. I love this site and have recommended it to anyone who will listen. Rock on bootsnall - and go the world traveller!! (Funnily enough that was another complaint by the boy, ah you are such 'tourists'!)

take care and best from me, Joannie

PS: our bootsnall blog is US here we come

Welcome Joannie!! I can totally relate to the travel with kids stuff - we travel with our twins who are now 10 - but mine aren't grumpy yet. (I'm sure that day is coming....)

Anyway, have fun on your trip!!

My children are grown and I have grandchildren. My grown daughter is going to go on a trip with me anywhere I want. How cool is that? Just wait. Time takes care of "grumpiness".

I want to be the person my dog thinks I am.
