I havent got a clue when i'm going to return home or if i well return home, even though i dont show it i'm really going to miss my Family and this place where i grew up.

anybody else get this feeling ?

Are you for real!?! Spain is just across the creek for you!!!

Sorry, that was not very charitabkle of me - forgive me as I am in practice for my Liver punishment - which is happening tomorrow - and probably the next day.

I'm pissed (the drunk kind) Abzv

But really - at worst you could hitch-hike home from Spain. Just follow your initial instinct - and see what happens. you may really get bitten by the bug!!

I don't think it's as simple as hitchhiking back home, Mim. Maybe you should reconsider your post.

Quitting a job and setting off on the road is a big decision. I understand Tony's mixed feelings. Was quitting the job really a snap-decision or something you've wanted to do for some time?

Either way, a break will do you good. You don't have to stay away for ever, but who knows what will happen?

I get that feeling all the time. I've never moved back 'home' after going on my big trip, and now my country of origin feels like a different country. But it could have gone either way, and in the end it was for the good.

So yes, I'd say go for it mate. Most likely you'll meet people on the road who are in a similar situation, so you'll be less lonely than you think.

Yep - I know the feeling. My husband and I have quit our jobs and will be taking off with our children to ride bikes from Alaska to Argentina - in 22 days!!! YIKES!!! Part of me says this is the most hare-brained pipe dream EVER, but another part says it's an incredibly wonderful experience and we would be crazier than loons to NOT do it!

Now if you had asked me last month, there would have been NO doubt whatsoever that it's the best thing that ever could have happened. but now that our departure day is growing nearer, I'm having second thoughts. I think it's totally normal (at least that's what I'm telling myself!)

Call me a romantic but it sounds like what could be the beginning of a terrific tale. I understand the apprehension, really, but if you've already quit your job, why not light out on a trip to anywhere. There's no telling what may happen but there's nothing saying you can't go back home. One thing I do know is that rarely does anything worthwhile happen just by sitting on your ass. Just stay safe!

Nothing good comes without risk. Ok, well maybe a couple things, but nothing absolutely fabulous!

I think how you feel is completely normal and I always feel the same way, even with just a small little trip. The reality is that technically you can find a way to make money anywhere and when you come home, if you do, then you'll be able to get a job. As for the family, there is nothing saying that you can come back for a break in a few months just to visit. Perhaps they will come to visit you for a bit?

I think CC is right, you could be at the beginning of an amazing journey. You know what would happen if you stayed home right? nothing much. So get out there and take the chance Smile

Great things come from risk, I agree. Keep your chin up and hope for the best.
