Okay, so I'm nearly half a year late in replying to this posting. But well, I'm headed to India in about a month's time, and I have slightly over 3 weeks to burn. I'm just wondering did you go for your trip in the end..and if you did, if you could share some of your experiences...? smile

I'm trying to get a reliable agent to pre-book my rail tickets, but lemme tell ya... it's one hell of a job. They may quote you the same commission rates, but heck...all the rail tickets are of different prices, for the same class! *LOL* Some of them are obviously trying to rip one off, thinking we don't know the train fares. Tough getting reliable service and help, coz I don't know who to trust.

Well, if you don't mind sharing some tips on your India trip...mail me at rosie@insurer.com .... hope to hear from you! smile

I did a 3 week motorcycle trip in south India on a rented Enfield 500.

Take a look at my web-site if you want more info:

G'Day,

The famous carvings are in the in the town of Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. Its a quiet little village that surprisngly has an airport. Every afternoon a jet or 2 takes off and then its back to normal. The carvings are among thousands of other carvings and you have to look for them.

As a tourist in Delhi get hold of an "official" complaint card from the police. Produce it in any dispute/attempted rip off with a rickshaw driver and problems go away. Dont fill it in keep it for next time and hand it on to a fellow traveller when you leave.
Regards Dave
