Knows What a Schengen Visa Is
Posted
Howdy,

This is probably a dumb question, but I'm needing to buy a plain ticket relatively soon for my study abroad. My question is that since you can't book for a date more than a year away, while my return date will be more than a year away, what's the best strategy? Do you just put in a dummy date for the return, then change it when the time approaches? Thanks

have you looked into booking one way tickets? just buy a one way back home at a later date. that way you don't have to pay $100 or however much the airlines charge when you want to change your itinerary. where ya headed?? Big Grin

Some airlines offer super-cheap change fees. Check out airfare prices and inquire with the airlines about the date change. When I flew Air NZ, it set me back $50 AU...not too shabby

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'm just headed back to Norway. Maybe you saw, I won an essay contest with the prize being airfare and accommodation, but it looks like they might just give me a check for the value of an average ticket from the west coast to Oslo, so I'm still hunting for cheap airfare.

The standard industry is 330 days in advance based on the return date.
low cost airlines tend to release their fiqures by either summer or winter season.
summer in the uk is from end of March (clocks move forward )to end of october( clocks back ).This always occure early hours sunday morning
