I leave for my rtw travels in a couple days! It's kind of weird, I expected a lot of nervousness and excitement as that day comes closer, but here I am, two days away from my first flight, and I don't feel a thing.

This is my first time doing something like this, I'll probably realize once I get started that I'm horribly unprepared, but I hope it'll all be part of the adventure.

My first stop is Fiji for a few days, then New Zealand. Eventually, I'd like to visit every continent, excluding antartica (cause I read it can be kind of expensive). I haven't booked any hostels or ground transportation, just a couple of plane tickets, I was hoping to wing it as I go. Hopefully everything will work out!

If anyone has any last minute tips... please let me know!

What can I possibly say, except

a) I'm jealous.

b) Very best of luck with it.

6) Don't forget a universal sink plug!

Watch your budget!! I went over with a wad of money, thinking I'd watch the spending, and used most of it in a shockingly short amount of time. Smile

Don't let lack of planning or self-restraint cut your trip short. Wink

Oh, and since you're headed to New Zealand first, you might wanna check out the Photo Gallery on my site. The pics are organized by location and I have a TON from all over the north and south islands of NZ. Smile

Thanks! I actually found your site pretty helpful. Especially the what to bring section!

You really do not need most of what you take. I saw this advice before I left and it is certainly true. YOu can always get stuff while you are away and sometimes to feel "normal" you do actually want to buy something like a t-shirt for example.

Forget the budget as that won't last long either.

When you are away and you have a bad day or feel tired and weary, remember where you are and make the most of that day.
